The Town is in the process of a Revaluation as required by State law. Notices of new values will be mailed in November 2011, and hearings on appeals will be conducted during the months of November 2011 through  March 2012. The final valuations will be effective for the 2012/2013 budget year and the impact on your taxes will not be known until the final Grand List is certified and the mill rate established in June 2012.

However, it should be possible to make some sort of estimate of the impact on residential taxes before then.

We are experiencing one of the greatest fiscal crises this country has seen, and corporations everywhere are eliminating jobs, establishing pay freezes and so on. 


We hope that the Town operations and the Board of Education will recognize this issue, and manage their budgets accordingly.
